Welcome to the Online Learning Community and Knowledge Bank

The Australian Childhood Foundation has been providing training and professional education activities for over 30 years. We have had some wonderful experiences learning and reflecting together about the neurobiology of development, trauma and therapeutic practices. We have also worked across a number of settings to translate this important knowledge base to support trauma informed practice in education, family violence, family support services, child protection, children’s services and many others.

So many of you have told us you want to share your practice insights and experiences of your work with us and each other. After every conference, there is a really strong sense of community that continues to influence us when we go back to our work. It prompted us to build a permanent place so that these conversations and the others you ask us about can happen.

The Online Learning Community and Knowledge Bank is an initiative from the Australian Childhood Foundation to support a new way for practitioners to access practice ready knowledge, find resources for their work and connect with other practitioners with similar interests and fields of practice as them.

The Online Learning Community has a LIBRARY of especially curated content that translates various forms of knowledge (research evidence, cultural knowledge, practice experience, voices of young people) to resource the practice of those who work with children, young people, families and communities who have experienced trauma and relationship disruption. The content you find here has been exclusively researched, co-ordinated and developed for practitioners working in places like schools, children’s services, private practice, mental health services, family support services, child therapy programs and many others.

It includes the recorded presentations from our international speaker tours, our previous International Childhood Trauma Conferences, and other informative presentations. You can watch them whenever you want on any device. It gives you access to up to date articles and resources that you are interested in. You can save and download these publications. You will also be able to engage in a safe ongoing online forum of like-minded professionals.

We are currently building other online communities and knowledge libraries about parenting education and support, and safeguarding children for professionals working across a range of settings.

By joining and being part of the ACF Online Learning Community, you will also receive exclusive access to webinars and other learning opportunities with some of the leading practitioners in the field of trauma informed practice from around the world. You will be eligible for member only discounts to our training, courses and conferences. You will also be making a small contribution to our therapeutic programs that support children and young people who have been affected by the trauma associated with abuse, family violence and neglect nationally.
